Baskerville Raceway is a historic motorsport circuit nestled in a natural bowl just outside Hobart in southern Tasmania. Officially opened in February 1958 by Tasmanian Premier Robert Cosgrove, the 2.01-kilometre layout holds the distinction of being Australia's oldest continuously operating permanent motor racing circuit. Built on land leased to the Hobart Sporting Car Club, the track quickly established itself as the bedrock of Tasmania's club racing culture, attracting grassroots drivers and national competitors across sports cars, touring cars, and open-wheel categories. The 10-turn, counter-clockwise circuit is revered by competitors for its rolling topography, technical camber changes, and compact footprint. The surrounding hills create an amphitheatre setting where spectators can view virtually the entire racing surface from multiple vantage points along the embankments. Major modernization programs spearheaded by the Baskerville Foundation delivered extensive track resurfacing, bridge structural updates, and renovated control tower facilities, keeping the venue ready for competitive motorsport while retaining its retro character. Baskerville hosts a diverse calendar of events that encompasses both two-wheel and four-wheel disciplines. Signature gatherings include rounds of the Tasmanian Circuit Racing Championship, the Tasmanian Drift Series, motorcycle road racing organised by the Sports Riders Club of Tasmania (including the Baskerville 2-Hour Motorcycle Race), and the widely attended Baskerville Historics meeting. The venue has also featured demonstration runs and support racing for national categories such as S5000, TCR Australia, and Trans Am during the Race Tasmania events.

Baskerville Raceway is located at 473 Baskerville Road in Old Beach, roughly 25 kilometres north of central Hobart. Drivers travelling from Hobart can head north on the Brooker Highway (National Highway 1), cross the Derwent River via the Bowen Bridge or East Derwent Highway (B32), and follow Baskerville Road directly to the circuit gates. Visitors driving down from northern Tasmania or arriving via the Spirit of Tasmania ferry at Devonport can follow the Midland Highway (National Highway 1) south toward Brighton, then take local connector routes onto East Derwent Highway and Baskerville Road. Onsite parking is available on grass paddocks and spectator banks, providing convenient vantage points within walking distance of both the main viewing banks and the pit lane.
