November Speedweek
About this Event
November Speedweek brings a unique form of motorsport to the vast salt lakes of South Australia. This special event transforms a remote landscape into a natural speedway where the primary goal is simple: find the absolute top speed of a vehicle over a timed course. The stark white surface of the dry lake creates a visual experience unlike any traditional racetrack, offering clear views of custom-built machines as they disappear toward the horizon. Spectators will experience land speed racing in its most authentic form, featuring a diverse range of entries that include vintage motorcycles, modified production cars, and purpose-built streamliners. The open nature of the pits allows fans to see the specialized engineering required to handle the salt surface and aerodynamic drag. It is a technical discipline where the focus is on precision and mechanical endurance rather than wheel-to-wheel tactics. The remote South Australian setting provides a focused backdrop where the sound of a single vehicle carries across the salt. The collaborative atmosphere among the teams makes it an approachable experience for anyone interested in the technical side of motorsport and the long history of land speed record attempts.
