While the venue's roots date back to the 1970s, it underwent a massive $3 million redevelopment that saw it completely reborn in 2024. The new layout is a state-of-the-art clay oval specifically designed to replicate the world-renowned I-55 Raceway in Missouri, USA. This unique design features steep banking and a wider surface than most traditional Australian tracks, providing a high-speed, multi-lane racing experience that has quickly made it a favorite among drivers and fans alike. The venue is a hub for high-octane action, hosting major national events such as the Sprintcar Speedweek alongside a diverse range of categories including Super Sedans, Formula 500s, and Wingless Sprints. With the addition of advanced VAILO LED lighting, the speedway offers spectacular night racing and entertainment shows that light up the Limestone Coast. The atmosphere is defined by a passionate local community and a 'can-do' spirit, as much of the track's revival was driven by local volunteers and businesses, making every race meet a true celebration of regional motorsport culture. ## Getting There The speedway is conveniently located on Golf Course Road, situated on the northern outskirts of Bordertown just off the Dukes Highway. It is a roughly three-hour drive from Adelaide and five hours from Melbourne, making it an ideal stop for traveling motorsport fans. On-site parking is available for spectators, with the venue featuring elevated mounds that provide excellent views of the entire high-banked circuit. Visitors are encouraged to check the official social media pages for gate opening times and specific entry points during major events like Speedweek.
