AORC Kalgoorlie Desert Race
About this Event
The Kalgoorlie Desert Race brings a diverse mix of machinery to the Western Australian Goldfields for the final showdown of the national off-road season. Spectators can watch cars and bikes tackle a demanding 121-kilometre loop that winds through red sand, flat salt lakes, and dense bushland. As the concluding round of both the Motorsport Australia and Western Australian championships, the event attracts the top tier of off-road competitors looking to secure titles on a course known for its relentless terrain. The action begins in town with a community street party and scrutineering session at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Race Club. This is the best chance for fans to see the buggies, trucks, and bikes up close before they head out to the dirt. The weekend continues at the track with prologues, the Dash for Cash under lights on Friday night, and three days of intense racing across multiple laps of the rugged desert circuit. With a circular course featuring a mid-way fuel stop, the event is designed to keep fans connected to the movement of the race. On-site facilities include big screens with live footage and commentary at the start/finish line, ensuring you stay updated on the leaderboard as drivers and riders navigate the red dust and technical wooded sections.
