The 2026 Shannons Adelaide Rally returns from 16–18 October, bringing one of the world's largest tarmac rallies back to the closed public roads of the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and Adelaide CBD. With a field of 400-plus entrants, three days of racing and a festival atmosphere built around getting fans close to the action, it's one of the standout events on the South Australian motorsport calendar. Part of the rally's appeal is the sheer variety of machinery. The grid spans everything from purpose-built and modified competition cars and modern supercars to cherished classics and vintage tourers, competing across a range of categories. Headlining the 2026 field is one of the most talked-about rally cars in the world right now: the rally-homologated Porsche 911 Rally GT. Built on the 911 GT3 Cup car and competing in the FIA's R-GT category, the 992-generation Porsche has taken the European rally scene by storm since its 2025 debut. For spectators, the rally is designed to be experienced up close. Dedicated spectator zones are built into the competitive stages on each day of the event, while free, family-friendly community celebrations bring the cars right into the heart of the community.
